Little Ghosts and #GoBoBakeSale

It's almost October!!  It’s time for Halloween cookies!

First off, I have this set that I made just for fun!  We have bold colors cute little ghosts (Spud called them baby ghosts) and, of course, Ghost Vader.

For the cookies, I switched things up this year and used this chocolate cookie recipe from LilaLoa.  The only change I made was to use special dark cocoa powder.  That’s right!  No food dye in that dough!  They’re very dark brown from the cocoa powder!

Next up, I am participating in the Go Bo! Foundation Bake Sale again this year.  Here’s more about it, directly from Jill, baker at Funky Cookie Studio:

The Go Bo! Foundation has a three-tiered approach of assistance to children with life-threatening medical conditions. They:

1.     Fund childhood cancer and related blood disorder research at the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.).

2.     Support state-of-the-art treatment in a child friendly environment at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (Dr. David Margolis was Bo’s doctor and he is a huge advocate and innovator in the field of childhood cancer).

3.     “Pay it forward” to families of children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. Since most of the family’s energy is spent on their child, families often experience a financial crisis during this time. The Go Bo! Foundation’s goal is to assist in alleviating some of the financial worries by providing direct financial assistant (mortgage, rent, utilities, etc.). The assistance is not to be used for medical expenses, but rather to assist with the day-to-day bills.

What a great cause!

Using the same cookie dough, I made a few difference ghosts for the bake sale.  Plus the round cookie with part of the bake sale theme!

“Love each other, help each other, have your neighbor's back. If you see someone in need — even a stranger — reach out and help. This world can be a better place if we care and help each other.”
~ Bo Johnson

I encourage you to click those links and find out more about the Go Bo! Foundation.  And if you’re near Wisconsin check out the sale!  Tag me on Facebook or Instagram if you see my cookies!
