Zebra Striped Graduation Cake

It’s graduation season!

This year, I get to make cakes for 3 graduates!

The first one was for a collage graduation last weekend.  She didn’t want anything that screamed graduation, so we went with a small zebra striped cake!

This cake is also special, because my friend (the graduate) wanted to surprise her mom.  Her mom just finished chemo to fight her breast cancer.  Chemo took away her sense of taste, and it was just coming back as graduation rolled around.  So as a shout out to her mom, we added a pink band and flowers on the outside of the cake and surprised her with pink polka dots inside!

For this cake, I used the same recipe and method as the Minnie Mouse Cake, only this one was baked in three 6-inch pans.  It was covered in MM Fondant and then painted with thinned black food coloring, much like the Zebra Wedding cake, but a bit more delicate.

  1. This cake is gorgeous and I love the pink ribbon and flowers for her mom!

  2. That is an awesome cake, Amy.
