Superman Cupcakes

Is there anything cuter than a little boy playing super heroes?

Nope, didn’t think so.

These Superman cupcakes are just perfect for any little boy (or girl!!) super hero!

To make these cupcakes, I make up a small amount of MM Fondant 3 days ahead of time and tinted it yellow and red.  I rolled out the red and then cut it with a large square cookie cutter (from this set).  Then I used the medium square cutter to remove the center of the red squares.  I used the same medium square to cut out the yellow.

Red outline squares were placed around the yellow squares and the top corners were cut off to make a diamond shape.  Then I used a bit of leftover red to fill in the top of the outline.

Last, I used a small letter “s” cutter to make the superman S and placed it on top.  These were placed on a silpat to harden overnight.

The cupcakes are my favorite Rich Chocolate Cupcakes and topped with a big swirl of Vanilla Buttercream.  It’s hard to see in the photos, but I sprinkled some edible glitter onto the cupcakes just before placing the Superman crests on top, so there is just a slight glimmer to the cupcakes!
