My last set of Easter cookies
are crosses to remind us of the real reason behind Easter.
We all like bunnies and chicks and things, but ultimately, Easter is about Jesus’ death and resurrection.
The funny part is that I wasn’t
actually planning to make crucifix cookies.
No, I was flooding the crosses and thinking about just sprinkling them
with the leftover sugar from the Peeps cookies when my 2 year old pointed to
the cookie and said ,“Jesus, Mama! Jesus
on it!”
Kids are so amazing, they
know just how to focus in on the important things in life. And so, thanks to my intuitive two year old,
we have crucifix cookies, this year as well.
Have a Happy & Blessed
Easter, Everyone!
I am making crucifixes too, but I couldnt find a normal sized cutter, so the boys are getting the mini ones and I am putting 3;16 on them. I too wanted a way to drive home the true meaning of Easter to the grandsons.
ReplyDeletenicely done. :)
